1.1.inclusion criteria
1.1.1.1、1 to 13 years of age
1.1.1.2、The diagnosis of acute appendicitis is based on acute abdominal pain and computed tomography (CT) (Fig 1a, b) and/or ultrasonography (US) (Fig 1c, d) finding of an enlarged appendix or obstruction of appendix with fecalith
1.1.1.3、family’s refusal to have a standard surgical intervention
1.2.exclusion criteria
1.1.2.1、children with appendix perforation, diffused peritonitis or periappendiceal abscess
1.1.2.2、Abdominal radiograph showing intra-abdominal free air and other causes of acute abdomen such as urological and gynecological diseases
1.1.2.3、Children with a contraindication for colonoscopy or an allergy to contrast media
1.1.2.4、Family is reluctant to accept endoscopic treatment
